When we talk about healing, most people think of the body, of physical symptoms, diet, exercise, or medication. But there is another level of healing that begins in the mind, and it often starts with something as simple as imagination.

Imagination is far more than daydreaming or creativity. It is the mind’s way of shaping experience. Every feeling, memory, or plan for the future involves imagination. The body listens to these inner pictures and responds accordingly.

When we imagine danger, the heart races and the muscles tighten. When we imagine comfort, the breath deepens and the body relaxes. The messages we send through imagination directly affect how we feel, physically, mentally, and emotionally.

Huna teaches that imagination is one of the most direct ways to communicate with the subconscious, or Ku. It is through images, feelings, and symbols that we guide the deeper parts of ourselves toward balance and health.

The Power of Focused Imagination

This year, we are exploring this remarkable connection in our new online course Healing with Focused Imagination: A Huna Guide.

Over eight live weekly sessions, we will dive into how imagination can be consciously used to promote healing, ease tension, and awaken vitality. Each class includes guided exercises, discussion, and opportunities to experience the subtle ways that mind, body, and energy work together.

The course is inspired by Serge Kahili King’s classic book Imagineering for Health, a treasure trove of techniques for using imagination and intent in healing. It is a body of work that remains surprisingly relevant today, as science increasingly confirms the link between imagery, emotion, and physiological change.

Through a Huna lens, this becomes more than self-help or relaxation. It is a way of living consciously, learning to use imagination not as escape, but as a tool for creation and restoration.
