I have had the pleasure of providing mentoring for Cécilia who has been working to become an Alakai of Huna International. Recently Cécilia was ordained by Serge King in recognition of her achievement.
She has kindly written about her journey for me which I am sharing here to celebrate her success. It’s wonderful to discover the range of different ways in which people arrive at Huna, how they assimilate and use the knowledge and contribute to the goal of the Aloha Fellowship to make the world a better place. Below are Cécilia’s words.

Aloha mai kakou !
My name is Cécilia Pivot-Bergero, I’m based in Chamonix, in the magical French Alps. I work full time as a visual merchandiser and I’m energetic healer on the side.
I’ve been attracted by the Hawaiians islands for more than two decades now. My first travel abroad was to go to Oahu in 2000. The strange thing about it, is that I was planning to fly to Nepal and for a reason I still can’t explain, when I took my flight ticket, I put Honolulu instead of Kathmandu on the destination tab.
I immediately fell in love with the Aloha spirit. I have revisited the Hawaiian islands almost every 2-3 years since then. I got married on the Waimanalo beach, my daughter has an Hawaiian name, as does my cat too!
My first introduction with the Aloha spirit and Hawaiian practice was through Ho’oponopono which I studied for a diploma in. And then, one day…by chance. my eyes saw a nice cover on a book. This book was about Hawaiian shamanic healing. Two years later, I read that book again, then some other ones, and in all of them a name was coming back : Serge Kahili King.
So, I bought my first book from Serge Huna: Ancient Hawaiian Secret and then bought some other ones nd was totally blown away by the messages contained within.
I then bought a masterclass on the Huna.org store, and listen to it again and again. Then I decided to contact Serge Kahili King to ask if he was planning to organise a masterclass on Huna.
It was just after the pandemic period, and he invited me to find someone in Europe. I then discovered that Pete was organising a zoom class on An Introduction to Huna: A Shamanic Path to Harmony and Power. I immediately signed up and very soon after this class I asked Pete if he would be ok to teach me further. I’m glad he accepted to review my application to study Huna further and to share it with Serge.
I started my Alaka’i candidate journey on August 2022. What a journey !!! To be honest, it took me almost 4 months to get used to the transmission method used in Huna International. I’ve been following different training in different topics to get my diploma in Feng Sui, Geobiology and Bioenergetic works. The trainings were very conventional : you listen to the teacher, you take notes, you learn what’s taught, you ask one or two questions, and then it’s your diploma date.
Here, the concept was totally different ! YOU are the one who take the full responsibility of your learning. You have some requests on several books to study and then you prepare some questions about it. It was so hard for me at the beginning as I was used to agreeing with the teacher, as it was the teacher … I didn’t really know what to ask for. It took me some time to get rid of my life experiences as a curious kid to whom people say “stop asking questions”. Learning Huna is different. That was my first teaching ????
I then I tried my best to apply the principles taught in my daily life, thinking I understood it. I realized I understood it mentally but was far of understanding it spiritually and emotionally.
After 6 months I finally managed to embrace this new way of learning and discovering. I also got great help from Pete’s friend and Alakai Stewart Blackburn who helped me to change my perspective with his masterclass Getting to Know Your Inner Self.
After almost 2 years of monthly exchanges with Pete and experimenting with the Huna philosophy in my daily life, I finally got ordained on April 2022. What a beautiful ceremony and what an emotion to receive my Hawaiian name.
Lapa’au oia mai ka piko o ke po’o a ka poli o ka wawae a la’a ma na kihi ‘eha o ke kino
Yes !!!! That’s my name !!!!
It translates as ‘she heals from the crown of the head to the soles of the feet together with the 4 corners of the body’ . But you can call me Kalapa’au!
The ceremony was very friendly and fun, when Serge gave me my Hawaiian name, deep emotion overcame me. I felt part of the Kahili Huna family.
I was always shy to say I was studying Hawaiian philosophy as an haole. Since then I feel something has shifted inside me and my connection to Hawaii has got stronger. It has definitely reinforced my will to spread the Aloha Spirit around me. Without any exaggeration, being an alaka’i candidate changed my life. I was more into a warrior in my life and those 2 years transformed me into an adventurer.
I use the Huna tools in my everyday life, first for myself (that’s a huge step), with my family, my colleagues. Huna played a massive role in improving the quality of my healing sessions.
I’m now organising Aloha Circle in Chamonix, planning to organise Huna introduction session in France, so if you’re around drop by.
I can observe that my relation with my environment has totally changed. I had a health issue that forced me to be on a 11 months sick leave, and for sure Huna is having a strong influence on my recovery.
I bless Pete for his patience and availability, Stewart, Serge, all the Alaka’i I met on my journey and the Alaka’i candidate group that was a great support !!!
